terms, below is the key showing corresponding modern
conventional terminology or its meaning:
Bharat – India
Bharatiya – Indian
Gaumata or Gomata – Cow as the Divine Mother
Gau – Cow
Nandi – male Cow
Gopalan – cow rearing, may also include breeding
Gotra – lineage
Gaushala – a place of abode of Gaumata, place of breeding
and rearing.
